Almost Ready....
Its been a while but we are getting pretty close to hearing some more noise in the shed. Just waiting on some oil to turn up and 53a should be running again. I have decided to try some different oil in the engine this season, for the past couple of seasons I have used Valvoline Dura-Blend, but this time I have decided to use a Fuchs product. Its not exactly the rating I was after but at nearing $20/litre I am hoping that it doesn't have to be changed as often as the previous stuff.

With the Superstocks standing down at Waikaraka Park on the opening night, I understand our first race night will be the 8th of November which gives us a couple more weekends to finish the rebuild. There is a new crush bar to go on the front bumper, a couple of panels and a new gearbox cover to make so there should not be any reason why we won't be there. Geoff dropped off the new cabin pads on the weekend to match the body paint and they look fantastic. If only I had pulled finger soon he said that he would have had the new seat cover made then everything would match properly.
As for everything else that's going on, Dad's new car has been painted and now ready for reassembly. Both Dad and Wayne have been working extra hard to get the car back together, they also have repainted the transporter trailer which now looks excellent.
Bryce and Wayne took the 73a Superstock to Huntly for a run last weekend, unfortunately the night ended when Bryce hit a hole in the track which caused a shock to collapse and shot the car straight into the wall bending the front bumper.
Catch ya soon.....MadPhil
