Getting Ready for the Teams Nationals - 73a

After running the car for the past couple of weeks with some success we feel that the car is performing well and ready for this weekends Teams Nationals. Of course in this type of racing anything can happen.....and normally does.

The car has been re-setup with new shocks, rubber and a change in diff gears from the normal 8.3:1 ratio used at Auckland.

Bigger news is that over the past week a lot of work has been put in to getting our new method of transportation up and functioning. While it is not quite at the point where we had been hoping it is ready to take 2 cars and plenty of spares to any race meeting. This weekend it will be taking 73a (of course) and 414a car down to the Teams Nationals.

A huge thank you must go to Pat, Wayne, and Lance for their efforts on the trailer getting it ready for this weekend. Its all the work that goes on behind the scenes that goes to making big weekends even easier.

Unfortunately the above photos were taken as the light was failing, but the trailer is around 9.2m long. Easily takes two cars, electric winch, and loads of storage. The tractor unit is a 380hp FH12 Volvo. The Volvo can comfortably pull 20ton, so with just a couple of 1400kg cars and a few spare wheels it will be an easy trip down to Palmerston.

Catch ya.....MadPhil
