The Saga Continues....
Well not really but just to continue with the regular update trend. I have been busy for the past couple of nights grinding in the valves on the new head. Its a slow but painless job made easy by a bit of kiwi know how.
Of course it still takes a while to grind the valves in, even with a machine but at least you get to walk away and get other jobs done.
Any of you home
mechanics will remember all the hassle of manually doing the valves, put a suction
cup on the valve and twist in your hands for 20 minutes. But if you look at
that old washing machine, take the agitator, electric motor, add a couple of
bearings, some pulleys to reduce the speed, and next moment you will realize
you pretty much have yourself a valve grinding machine!

happens you combine all of these parts click here: Valve

I was hoping to have the heads built with cams by the end of saturday but it now sounds like I am building a fence then sunday is all ready booked for a day out and I have to fix my partners horse float, so I don't think there will be enough time to swap the heads before the first practice at Waikaraka. I also keep telling myself I need a new carburetor, but with a price tag of around $1000 my bank account keeps telling me no! Not sure who will win that battle.
But even without these new items we should still be at the track for the first practice and still trying for Huntly's opener.
